UV gel polish is a popular option for those who want long-lasting, chip-resistant nail color. While the process of applying UV gel polish may seem intimidating at first, with a little practice and the right tools, anyone can achieve a professional-looking manicure. Step 1: Prepare Your Nails The first step in any manicure is to prepare your nails. Remove any existing polish and use a nail file to shape your nails to your desired length and shape. Push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher and trim any excess skin. Finally, buff the surface of your nails with a nail buffer to remove any ridges and create a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to. Step 2: Apply Dehydrator Before applying any polish, it’s important to ensure that your nails are clean and dry. Use a lint-free wipe to apply air dry dehydrator to your nails, which will remove any oils or residues on the surface of your nails and help the polish adhere better. Step 3: Apply Primer Once the dehydrator has dried, apply a thin layer of primer to your nails. This step is important because it creates a bond between your natural nails and the gel polish, helping it adhere better and last longer. Step 4: Apply Base Coat After the primer has dried, it’s time to apply the base coat. This step is essential because it provides a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to and helps prevent chipping and peeling. Apply a thin, even layer of base coat to your nails, being careful not to get any on your skin or cuticles. Cure the Gel Base Coat for about 60-120 seconds depending on the wattage of your UV Lamp Step 5: Apply Gel Polish Now it’s time for the fun part – applying the gel polish. Choose your desired color and apply a thin, even layer to your nails, making sure to cap the free edge of each nail to prevent chipping. Cure the polish under your UV Lamp for 60-120 seconds depending on the wattage of your UV Lamp. Note: One layer is usually enough to get a deep and rich look, but if you want to apply 2 layers, make sure to use thin layers on top of each other to prevent the gel polish from wrinkling, chipping or peeling. Step 6: Apply Top Coat Finally, apply a thin, even layer of no wipe top coat to your nails. This step seals in the color and provides a high-shine finish with a Glossy Top Coat and a soft mute look with a Matte Top Coat. Cure the top coat under your UV lamp for 60-120 seconds depending on the wattage of your UV Lamp. And Voila! You have achieved the perfect UV Gel Polish manicure that will stay 3-4 weeks. Keep your nails away from oil and water as much as possible to make the look last as long as possible.
